Elsevier had a very challenging programme which required expertise in understanding complex journal and book production workflows and also required technology expertise in some of the latest technologies involving Machine Learning, NLP, AWS services, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes.
Xpergia provided specialist resources suiting project requirements who worked together with Elsevier teams and proved instrumental in successful delivery. Some of the key deliverables so far have been:
- Introduction of Web socket protocol as one of the standard architecture pattern for consumption of services
- Working closely with Elsevier Machine Learning team to enhance their training models and converting them to micro-services to be consumed by various internal systems within Elsevier
- Successful implementation of a new BPMN 2.0 based journal production workflow system
- Successful implementation of a containerized, auto-scalable micro-services platform deployed on cloud infrastructure
- Creation of a continuous integration and delivery pipeline to support DevOps and accelerate application deployment cycle to various environments
